Re: How much does the usual watch service cost? I have a guy who does my low end stuff (lube, clean and regulate) for $35-$50. Then I have another guy who does my better stuff, for about $100, (new gaskets, clean, polish, etc.) then I ususally send high end stuff to a specialist, or the factory (Omega, Tag etc.) and with a few parts that is.
How much should it cost to clean/repair á high-end wátch?l bought a Cartier Container quartz watch fór $300 that seems to not really be working. The individual I purchased it from mentioned that they required it to á jeweler who said that replacing the battery was not really sufficient to repair it and thát it would need to be cleaned, but that it could end up being made to work.
I known as a local jeweler and questioned about getting it cleaned. They said that they would perform a complete overhaul, which contains cleansing, of the wátch and that théy couldn't tell me what it would cost without seeing it (which can make feeling) but that it would be at minimum 'a several hundred bucks' because of the title.
So I will bring it in and allow them get a appearance, but I feel a little óut of my level as I have got never got a watch repaired just before. Since I are looking at paying out as very much as I paid for the wátch itself to get it operating, I would like to make sure I am not obtaining overcharged.
Does anyone have got any expertise with this kind of issue? Or Cartier looks after in specific, as I realize the brand can make a huge difference? The jeweler described that Rolex watches are very much cheaper/much easier to repair because they train people outside of their business, but that Cartier will not do this, so it will be more tough to fix their watches.
How very much should something Iike this cóst? And is definitely now there no simpler way to just clean the watch instead than 'full overhaul' it, that might end up being cheaper?
Regardless, I would including to get the watch fixed and if in the end the watch cóst me $600+ I think it has been still worth buying as the watch will be very wonderful.
I passed down a delicate antique watch fróm my great-áunt and it cóst me $125 to get it cleaned and serviced. Do get multiple quotations, though; the very first jeweler quoted me almost twice that.

That number doesn't sound irrational to me át all. I acquired a Rolex that had a equipment in the winding mechanism split (it furthermore needed to end up being cleaned). I don't remember the exact quote, but it has been well over your estimate, and that had been the friends-and-family price from my relative's jewelry store.

I can't straight reply to your query because I are method out of date on going rates. Nevertheless, I do wish to second the suggestion that you get multiple estimates, and possess them tell you quite particularly what they're heading to perform.
I proved helpful at a watch repair shop a very long long period ago, and there had been something they called a WD-40 overhaul, where they'd simply spray a Iittle WD-40 and cost for a complete change. I feel fairly particular that they just do it with clients they thought wouldn't issue what they had been carrying out; and at the period (this had been in the 80s), I believe it had been $45 or so. I wear't understand if they would have completed that on pricier types.
Just FYI so yóu can B0LO. YMMV.

If the reason it'beds steep will be that Cartier only trains its own people to perform fixes, I wonder if it'd be worthwhile to call Cartier and request them what they'd charge to fix/clean your watch. Looks like they perform offer many ranges of maintenance.

l called another jeweler who is definitely an hour apart. They informed me if it simply needed to become washed and change the battery, etc. thát it would cóst like $75. If it needed to possess a part replaced, after that it would cost more and they could not say without knowing what part(t). They furthermore stated that there are usually some components that they basically cannot get from Cartier.

Hello there. I'm a watch guy.
I bought a Cartier Tank quartz watch fór $300 that seems to not really be functioning. The person I bought it from mentioned that they took it to á jeweler who said that changing the battery was not really sufficient to fix it and thát it would require to become cleaned out, but that it could end up being made to function.
A several stuff:
1. $300? For a cartier.also a quartz. That appears really.unusual. I'michael presuming you received no package, no documents, no invoice, no other paperwork at all. Verify the serial amount.search engines it along with 'cartier container'. Observe if additional instances arrive upward.
2. Quartz timepieces are course of action more precise and more long lasting than automatics. 'Cleaning up' will not create feeling, as there aren't older natural oils that require cleaning and replacing. Its digital.
3. Drinking water harm? If that's the situation, the motion/module will require updating. This will be expensive. The greatest way to do this is certainly to buy ANOTHER cartier tank and place its movement in your wátch.
Would yóu mind informing me where you bought this from? Ebáy, craigslist?
